Who we are
This policy describes information handled by the City Wars by Patty Mayo website, Windows game, installer, updater and multiplayer service. Contact the City Wars team at p@pattymayo.tv for privacy questions or requests.
You do not need a registration key or Discord account to download or play the current public game. Online multiplayer uses a separate, automatically created game identity to keep track of city ownership.
Information we handle
- Game identity: a pseudonymous multiplayer account ID, city IDs, session credentials, registration dates and connection times. A remembered multiplayer credential is stored in your Windows profile.
- Multiplayer cities: the city name and U.S. ZIP location you choose; population, finances, resources, production, military inventory and other game statistics; visual building and road layouts; city preview images; and strike targets, outcomes and reconnaissance images.
- Service activity: requests for downloads, updates and multiplayer actions, associated times, technical error records and abuse-prevention records. Our hosting and authentication providers may process IP addresses, browser or device information and request logs when you connect.
- Contact and contributions: information you choose to send in support emails, bug reports, screenshots or community messages. Older in-game chat and suggestion records may still be stored.
- Earlier access systems: if you previously used key or Discord access, records may include hashed access keys or installation identifiers, a Discord user ID, past role-check results, encrypted authorization tokens and session records. Removing the login requirement does not itself delete historical records.
The ZIP code is a game location you select. It is not a request for your home address or a precise location reading from your device. Avoid putting your real address or other private information in city names or shared images.
What other people can see
Registering a multiplayer city publishes its selected location, name, statistics, military activity, layout and city images through the atlas, leaderboards, city visits and related public services. Strike reports and before/after images may also be public. Missile production and launch details can be posted to the City Wars Discord server by the game’s alert service.
Turning multiplayer off is not a privacy or deletion control: a registered city may remain visible. Cities inactive for seven days are hidden from the active atlas; this does not erase their records. Public information may be copied by other people or retained in messages outside our service.
Why we use it
We use this information to provide downloads and updates; remember multiplayer city ownership; synchronize cities and resolve attacks; show the atlas, rankings and reports; send game-event alerts; investigate bugs and abuse; respond to support and privacy requests; and meet applicable legal obligations.
Current public downloads do not require a new Discord role check. Your local save files stay on your computer unless you choose to share them or use a feature that sends city information, such as multiplayer or a support report.
Cookies and local storage
The website saves a local browser preference after you confirm you are 18 or older. This confirmation does not collect your date of birth or an identity document and is not an identity check. Clear this site’s browser data to remove it.
The website uses browser local storage to remember whether you muted air-raid audio. You can change this with the alert-audio button or remove the preference by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
People who used the former Discord sign-in may still have a first-party __session cookie. The current homepage and public download do not require that sign-in. You can clear old cookies through your browser. The game and updater also save preferences, ownership credentials, installation state, temporary downloads and game saves on your computer.
The current website does not embed advertising trackers or third-party analytics. We do not sell player personal information or use it for cross-site targeted advertising. We do not change essential service behavior in response to a browser “Do Not Track” signal; there is no advertising tracking to switch off. A separate service you visit, including Discord, has its own cookie and privacy practices.
Retention and deletion
City, ownership and gameplay records support continuing multiplayer play, security and resolving disputes or support requests. They currently have no fixed automatic deletion schedule. Some session credentials expire, but expiration or hiding a city from the atlas is not the same as deleting the stored record.
You can request deletion using the contact instructions below. Relevant records may need to be retained for security, legal obligations or resolving a pending dispute; we will explain an applicable limitation when responding. Backups and third-party messages may take longer to remove or may be outside our control. Deleting a local save or uninstalling the game does not automatically delete multiplayer records.
Your privacy choices
Email p@pattymayo.tv with “City Wars privacy request” in the subject. You can ask what information is associated with your city, request access or correction, or request deletion of multiplayer and former Discord-access records. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including objection, restriction, portability, appeal or a complaint to your local data-protection authority.
Include your city name, selected ZIP code and a description of your request. We may need proportionate information to confirm ownership before changing or disclosing records. Do not email passwords, access keys, session tokens or the multiplayer credential file. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
To stop sending new multiplayer city updates, disconnect that city from multiplayer or stop using its online features. For removal of information already shared, contact us. These choices do not prevent essential download or service requests you separately initiate.
Children and safety
City Wars is restricted to adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly seek personal information from people under 18. If you believe a child has provided information to the service, contact p@pattymayo.tv so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
No online system can promise complete security. Keep your multiplayer ownership credentials private and use a supported version of the game.
Policy changes
We will update this page and its effective date when our practices change. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent before applying a material change.
